X-MINING Near-Infrared Light Absorbing Fine Particles
The sunlight is composed of ultraviolet (wavelength: 100-380 nm), visible (380-780 nm) and infrared (780-2500 nm) lights.
Near-infrared light-absorbing fine particles are those that absorb light of wavelengths between 780 and 2500 nm, which has a shorter wavelength in the infrared rays (wavelength: 780 nm-15 mm). SMM utilizes nanometer-sized fine particles.
Near-infrared light has a thermal effect on human skin and is highly intense especially at wavelengths adjacent to those of the visible light. Therefore, it is important to remove near-infrared light at wavelengths adjacent to the visible light.
Besides Sumitomo Metal Mining's Near-Infrared Absorbing Materials CWO™ and LaB₆, ATO (SnO₂: Sb) and ITO (In₂O₃: Sn) are widely known as luminous-transparent near-infrared absorbing materials.
