Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd. is proud to announce that its apparel prototype “DOWN-LESS DOWN JACKET,” which utilizes the solar control material technology “SOLAMENT™,” has been awarded the prestigious “iF DESIGN AWARD 2024.”
The iF DESIGN AWARD is an annual award recognized globally for excellence in design. This year, the competition saw entries from 72 countries and regions, totaling 10,800 submissions. This marks the first time Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd. has received the iF DESIGN AWARD.
The “DOWN-LESS DOWN JACKET” was created as a prototype to showcase the vast potential of SOLAMENT™. The technology is applied to the fabric, which generates heat, producing an unexpected level of warmth without using any down filling, resulting in a hollow down jacket that defies visual expectations.
