Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce that the company’s DOWN-LESS DOWN JACKET, an apparel prototype of solar-smart material SOLAMENT™, won the Silver Award in the Design medium and the Bronze Award in the Innovation medium at Clio Awards 2024, the premier international awards competition for the creative business.

The “DOWN-LESS DOWN JACKET” was created as a prototype to showcase the vast potential of SOLAMENT™. The technology is applied to the fabric, which generates heat, producing an unexpected level of warmth without using any down filling, resulting in a hollow down jacket that defies visual expectations.
